Artist Statement

Andrew's work explores the unstable relationship between story and perception. Drawn to the tactile nature of documentary production, he uses nonfiction cinema as a way to encounter new situations and people, and to follow curiosities wherever they lead.

His practice begins in the field through access, observation, and human encounters, then extends into cinema as a medium for perceptual exploration. He is interested in how story shapes feeling and belief, and in the gaps between reality, perspective, and expression across individual minds and collective culture.

Working across documentary features, short films, and cinematography in various formats, Miller is drawn to projects that broaden perspective, deepen humility, and explore the limits of visual storytelling.
